How Does Roullete Work?
Roullete is a casino game in which players place bets on individual numbers, various groupings of numbers, colors (red or black) and other features. The aim is to correctly guess where the ball will land when the dealer spins the wheel. The earliest written reference to roulette dates to the 17th century, with French scientist Blaise Pascal being credited with inventing it. This was probably not his intention, though, as the game had a long and winding history before reaching its modern form.
The game revolves around a solid wooden wheel slightly convex in shape. Around the rim are thirty-six metal compartments, called canoes by roulette croupiers, painted alternately red and black. A 37th compartment, painted green on European wheels and red on American ones, carries the number zero. The croupier, also known as the rouleur, positions the bets on the table according to a pattern, with outside bets placed on the outermost areas of the betting grid and inside bets on the inner part of the circle.
