The Basics of Roullete
Roullete is a simple casino game whose name means “little wheel.” The rules are easy enough for new players to grasp, yet it offers depth and complexity to serious bettors. This classic table game can be found in casinos around the world and adds glamour, mystery and excitement to any gambling experience.
Unlike most casino games, roulette is not played with standard gaming chips. Instead, each player gives the dealer a certain amount of money and asks for “colour.” The dealer then gives you coloured roulette chips that represent the denomination you gave him or her. Each player gets a different color to distinguish themselves from other bettors, which is helpful when sharing a single roulette table.
The dealer then spins the roulette wheel and throws a small ball into it. The ball bounces around and settles into one of the pockets marked with a specific number or grouping of numbers, which are either red or black. If the player correctly guesses the number or type of number (whether it is odd or even, high or low), they win.
Roulette is a fast-paced, fun and exciting game that can be enjoyed by players of all skill levels. It is also a game of pure chance, and the best strategy is to be patient, play conservatively and always walk away when you’re ahead.
Before the game starts, the croupier clears the table of losing bets and then allows players to place their chips. A player can make a variety of bets, including individual numbers, various groupings of numbers, whether the winning number is odd or even and the color of that particular number (red or black). A zero or double-zero on a European-style wheel is green and carries the sign 0 while a double-zero on an American-style wheel is green and carries the signs 00.
In addition to these bets, a player can also place a street or three-number bet, which pays out 17-1 if you win. The Split Bet, also known as a cheval in French, is another bet where you place your chips to straddle the line between two rows on the table map. The Line Bet, or six-line bet, is another option, which has a higher payout at 5-1.
